If it’s not already the case, by the looks of this image I won’t have to tag my friends in the near future; Facebook will just do it for me. Facial recognition is pretty spot on these days and Apple’s iPhoto already auto-tags photos. It’s going to get to the point where you’re auto-tagged in who knows who’s pictures. They’ve already started auto-tagging images and videos with Facebook events based on upload date.
Sure, your name probably won’t show up underneath a stranger’s photo, but maybe that connection will be quietly stored in one of Facebook’s many marketing databases.
